ISJB is a Timorese, Catholic and Jesuit Institute that provides quality secondary teacher education to address the current educational priorities of the nation. As a Timorese Institution, ISJB collaborates with the Government of Timor –Leste to provide quality secondary teacher education to address its educational priorities.

As a Catholic Institution, ISJB works with the Catholic Church to provide quality secondary teacher education by committing to the proclamation of the Joy of the Gospel, which is rooted in a deep personal relationship with Jesus, manifested by loyalty to the Church and characterized by a preferential option for the poor.

As a Jesuit Institution, the students are immersed in quality instruction that is founded on Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm (i.e. Context, Experience, Reflection, Action, and Evaluation). They are formed to be dedicated educational practitioners through exposure to extensive professional experience in various Secondary Schools throughout the country. ISJB forms teachers to be men and women for and with others with competence, conscience, commitment and compassion in the service of the Church and the Timorese people.
